MY NAME IS SHERRY BERMAN, AND I AM THE CHAIRMAN FOR THE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COMMITTEE IN SOUTH LAKE. AND ONE OF OUR RESPONSIBILITIES IS TO HOST THE SPIN MEETINGS OR THE SPIN TOWNHALL FORUMS. AND BASICALLY THIS IS TO GET FEEDBACK FROM THE RESIDENTS TO THE DEVELOPERS AND OTHER INTERESTS THAT WE MAY DO.

SO TONIGHT WE HAVE ONE DEVELOPMENT AND THEN WE ALSO HAVE A CODING.

THEY'RE LOOKING TO ADOPT A NEW CODE.

OUR FACILITIES ARE, YOU KNOW, ANYTHING FROM UPCYCLED OLD BOXES TO OUT OF THE GROUND BUILDS AND JUST KIND OF TRADITIONAL NURSERIES.

WE SPECIALIZE IN THE COMPLETE LANDSCAPE PROJECT, SO IT ALL STARTS WITH THE PLANT FOR US.

BUT THEN WE OFFER THE PRODUCTS THAT ARE ASSOCIATED WITH MAKING YOUR GARDEN SUCCESSFUL.

SO THE POTTERY, POTTING SOIL PLANTING MIX, IRRIGATION, HOUSEPLANTS TOOLS, SUPPLIES, SO ON AND SO FORTH. SO WE BROUGHT LOTS OF PICTURES TO SHOW YOU ABOUT THE FACILITIES WE'VE BUILT SO FAR. SO THEY'RE HERE'S SOME OF OUR NEWER FACILITIES OUT IN CALIFORNIA.

BUT THAT'S KIND OF OUR STOREFRONT AND THE FACE YOU WOULD SEE WHEN YOU CAME TO THE NURSERY. AND THEN SO WE ARE A NURSERY.

SO WE ARE A LARGE, LARGE SWATH OF LAND FILLED WITH LOTS OF TREES AND SHRUBS AND PLANTS, AND THEY TAKE UP SPACE.

AND SO THIS IS BUT WE DO PRIDE OURSELVES ON OUR MERCHANDIZING AND THE NEAT AND ORDERLY WAY IN WHICH WE DO IT.

AND WE, WE OFFER JOB QUANTITIES.

SO WE HAVE, YOU KNOW, IF YOU WANT TO BUY ONE [INAUDIBLE], YOU CAN DO THAT.

THE, YOU KNOW, THE RETAIL SHELL AND KIND OF OUR MERCHANDIZING.

AGAIN, WE PRIDE OURSELVES ON BEING CLEAN, FRIENDLY AND IN STOCK ALL THE TIME.

WE'VE GOT SO SOUTH LAKE BOULEVARD YOU CAN SEE IS ON THE LEFT OR THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE PAGE. AND THE CURRENT DRIVE IN IS THE CURRENT DRIVE OF.

THE TREE FARM THAT'S THERE.

AND THEN WE WOULD HAVE ACCESS OFF OF THERE WOULD BE ACCESS TO THE PROPERTY OFF PLAYER CIRCLE, WHICH YOU CAN SEE AT THE TOP.

WE HAVE TWO GROWING LOCATIONS AND WE GROW OUR OWN VEGETABLES AND WOODY, WOODY ORNAMENTALS AND TREES AND SHRUBS. BUT WE WOULD JUST BE VEGETABLES HERE.

SO THEN WE WOULD HAVE PERENNIALS.

YEAH. SO WE'D HAVE ALSO SOME KIND OF WAREHOUSE STORAGE SPACE ON THE PROPERTY FOR THE OUTDOOR LIVING FURNITURE BECAUSE IT'S A LITTLE BULKY TO KEEP IT STORED FOR AVAILABILITY AND DELIVERY AND SOME OFFICES.

WE'D LIKE TO KEEP THE POND THAT'S THERE.

WE, THERE ARE DONKEYS, TWO DONKEYS THAT LIVE ON THE PROPERTY THAT WE'VE GROWN ATTACHED TO.

WE DON'T KNOW WHO OWNS THEM, BUT IF THEY'RE SO WILLING TO PART WITH THEM OR LEAVE THEM OR LET US PURCHASE THEM, WE WOULD LOVE TO KEEP THE DONKEYS ON THE PROPERTY.

IT'S A BIG PROPERTY.

SO I'D LIKE TO GROW ON THE SUN. SO IT'S A IT'S WE CALL IT A LATHHOUSE.

IT'S KIND OF LIKE A WOODEN PERGOLA WE'VE GOT FEEDBACK ON.

CITY COUNCIL HAS UP FOR ADOPTION THE 2021 EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL CODES AND THE LOCAL REGIONAL AMENDMENTS.

THE CODES ARE LISTED AND PRESENTED FOR ADOPTION TO PROVIDE REGULATIONS THAT SAFEGUARD PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY FOR THE SOUTHLAKE COMMUNITY RELATED TO BUILDING CONSTRUCTION.

THE ADOPTION OF THESE CODES ALIGNS WITH THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE PDA STRATEGY MAP AND THE CITY CORPORATE OBJECTIVES TO ACHIEVE THE HIGHEST STANDARDS OF SAFETY AND SECURITY.

THE INTERNATIONAL CODES OR THE I CODES ARE THE MOST TRUSTED SOURCE OF MODEL CODES AND STANDARDS. DECADES OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE GUIDE THE CODE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS TO CREATE SAFE, SUSTAINABLE AND AFFORDABLE COMMUNITIES AND A LEVEL PLAYING FIELD FOR BUILDERS, DEVELOPERS AND MANUFACTURERS.

THIS IS THE INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE PROVIDING THE MINIMUM STANDARDS TO SAFEGUARD THE HEALTH AND PROPERTY REGULATION AND CONTROLLING THE USE OCCUPANCY, MAINTENANCE, REPAIR, DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION AND QUALITY OF MATERIALS FOR BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES WITHIN THE CITY. THE INTERNATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION CODE ADDRESSES ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN SEVERAL AREAS, INCLUDING COST SAVINGS, REDUCED ENERGY USAGE, CONSERVATION OF NATURAL RESOURCES, AND THE IMPACT OF ENERGY USAGE ON THE ENVIRONMENT.

STAFF RECOMMENDS ADOPTION OF THESE ORDINANCE AS PRESENTED TO THE COUNCIL.

THE TIMELINE FOR COUNCIL IS WE'VE GONE TO THE BUILDING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS, WHICH WAS MARCH 1ST, FIRST READING FOR CITY COUNCIL, APRIL 5TH, AND THE NEXT SECOND READING FOR CITY COUNCIL IS APRIL 19 AND THE EFFECTIVE DATE IS MAY 1ST.
