SO THIS IS A FOLLOW UP TO WHAT WAS, I THINK, SUCCESSFUL, FUNNY, HUMOROUS BACK THEN.

SO WE'LL TRY IT AGAIN. SO HERE WE GO WITH THE MAYOR'S REPORT.

AND TONIGHT IT'S A LITTLE DIFFERENT.

TWAS THE NIGHT OF OUR SOUTH LAKE CITY COUNCIL MEETING.

AND ALL THROUGH TOWN HALL, NOT A WATER FOUNTAIN WAS BROKEN, NOT EVEN AT PARK VILLAGE MALL.

CITY COUNCIL WORE CHRISTMAS SWEATERS TO SHOW OUR HOLIDAY CHEER AND TO CELEBRATE.

THE 2022 WAS A VERY GOOD YEAR.

LOTS OF GOOD WORK ON TAX CUTS, SCHOOL SAFETY AND FESTIVALS, ALL WHILE KEEPING OUR LOCAL GOVERNMENT OPEN, TRANSPARENT AND ACCESSIBLE.

OUR STORES HAD LOTS OF CUSTOMERS, ESPECIALLY APPLE, AND AFTER MANY YEARS WE FINISHED WIDENING WHITE CHAPEL.

WE ARE THANKFUL FOR THE LEADERSHIP OF CITY MANAGERS SHANA AND ALLISON, AND FOR OUR POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS WHO SERVE AND PROTECT US WITH COMPASSION.

WE'RE PROUD OF OUR DRAGONS WHO PROTECT THE TRADITION, ESPECIALLY THE SENIORS WHO WILL SOON HAVE GRADUATION.

SOME THINGS NEXT YEAR, WE HOPE WILL BE BETTER, LIKE THE ECONOMY AND EVERYONE'S HEALTH AND HOPEFULLY LESS TWITTER.

WE HAVE A GREAT TEAM WITH KATHY, AMY AND RANDY AND JOHN RONNELL AND SEAN AND AS PASTOR REID CALLS HIM, THE OTHER RANDY.

I'M A PARKVIEW RESIDENT AND WE HAD MANY OF US HERE EARLIER, A FEW WEEKS AGO, WHERE WE MET WITH THE CONSULTANTS OR THEY LAID OUT THE PLAN FOR WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN ON CENTRAL AVENUE.

WE'RE ALL QUITE EXCITED THAT SOME FUNDS HAVE BEEN APPROVED.

BUT THE ONE THING THAT WE NOTICED WAS THAT THERE WAS A LOT OF FOCUS ON NUMBERS AND IT WAS A LITTLE BIT SEEMED TO BE SHORT TERM AS FAR AS THE WAY THEY WERE LOOKING AT IT. AND THE THING I WOULD STRESS TO COUNCIL AND THE CONSULTANTS IS THAT THERE ARE 36 HOMEOWNERS IN PARKVIEW.

AND THE REALITY OF IT IS MANY OF THEM ARE DOG OWNERS THAT ACCESS THE STEBBINS PARK ACROSS THE STREET.

AND I THINK THE PROPOSED CROSSWALK IS DOWN BELOW FEDERAL.

SO THE REALITY OF IT IS THAT MOST HOMEOWNERS ARE GOING TO WALK OUT OF PARKVIEW WALK ALL THE WAY DOWN TO FEDERAL CROSS, COME BACK UP AND GO TO THE PARK.

THE NATURAL THING TO DO IS WALK OUT OF PARKVIEW AND GO STRAIGHT ACROSS THE STREET.

AND THAT'S KIND OF WHAT WE ASKED THE CONSULTANTS THAT NIGHT, IF THEY WOULD CONSIDER DOING THAT.

THE OTHER THING THAT I THINK EVERYONE NEEDS TO CONSIDER LONGER TERM IS THE FACT THAT THERE'S GOING TO BE A NEW BUILDING BUILT FURTHER DOWN CENTRAL AND THERE WILL BE, I DON'T KNOW, 50 RESIDENTS IN THAT BUILDING.

SO FROM THE RESIDENTS AND ALSO FROM THAT MEETING THAT NIGHT, WE OFTEN HEARD REFERRAL TO CENTRAL AVENUE AS A CORRIDOR.

AND I THINK THAT'S WHAT WE NEED TO PROBABLY CHANGE, IS GETTING THAT FROM A CORRIDOR TO A RESIDENTIAL STREET.

AND THAT'S WHY I WOULD ASK FOR CONSIDERATION FOR A CROSSWALK TO BE PUT DIRECTLY OUTSIDE THE PARK VIEW SO THAT PEOPLE DON'T HAVE BECAUSE THEY'RE GOING TO WALK ACROSS THERE REGARDLESS. AND I THINK IF IT IS CONSIDERED A CORRIDOR BY MANY PEOPLE WHO REALLY SPEED THROUGH THERE, THAT SOMETHING'S GOING TO HAPPEN.

I DON'T THINK ANYONE WANTS TO SEE THAT HAPPEN IN SOUTH LAKE.

SO AGAIN, WE HAVE 36 RESIDENTS IN OUR BUILDING.

WE HAVE MORE ON THE WAY TWO, THREE, FOUR YEARS DOWN THE ROAD.
