CONSIDERATION OF SV 25-001111 OR 0011. A SIGN VARIANCE FOR LAMBERT HOMES HEADQUARTERS.

YES. THANK YOU. THIS IS SIGN VARIANCES FOR LAMBERT HOME HEADQUARTERS.

AND THEY'RE LOCATED AT 1710 NORTH WHITE CHAPEL BOULEVARD.

THEY'RE REQUESTING TWO ATTACHED SIGNS. THIS IS AN AERIAL VIEW OF THE SITE.

THIS IS THE BUILDING HERE. AND THIS IS JUST THE SIGN SITE PLAN.

THEY'RE REQUESTING A SIGN ON THE SOUTH ELEVATION FACING 114.

AND ALSO ON THE NORTH ELEVATION. THE NORTH ELEVATION IS AN AWNING/CANOPY SIGN.

THIS JUST ISN'T AN ALLOWED SIGN TYPE. IN THE SIGN ORDINANCE THESE ARE 12 INCH TALL, FREESTANDING ALUMINUM LETTERS THAT ARE MOUNTED TO THE CANOPY.

AND THEN THERE IS AN LED LIGHT STRIP HERE THAT WILL PROVIDE SOME LIGHTING FOR THE SIGN EXTERNAL ILLUMINATION.

THE OTHER VARIANCE IS FOR THE SIGN WIDTH. IT EXCEEDS 75% OF THE SINGLE PLAIN FACADE THERE.

AND ON THE SOUTH ELEVATION IT'S AN UPPER STORY SIGN.

UPPER STORY SIGNS ARE JUST NOT ALLOWED. SIGN TYPE WITHOUT COUNCIL APPROVAL.

AND AGAIN, THE SIGN WILL BE EXTERNALLY ILLUMINATED.

IT'S THE ILLUMINATION IS KIND OF UNDER MOUNTED HERE.

IT WILL LOOK LIKE THIS AT NIGHT. AND THIS ONE ALSO EXCEEDS 75% OF THE SINGLE PLAIN FACADE.

THE PLAN IS TO PUT LED STRIP LIGHT UNDERNEATH, BEHIND THE FASCIA.

SO IT'S DISCREET, AND SO IT'LL JUST ILLUMINATE UPWARDS.

OH, YEAH. I'D HAVE A TENDENCY TO YELL, SO I TRY TO BE CAREFUL WITH THAT.

ON THE FRONT SIDE, IT'S GOING TO BE MOUNTED JUST ABOVE THE CANOPY, SO IT'LL BE UP LIT ON THAT ASPECT.

BUT THE SIGN IS STICKING FOUR FEET OUT, SO WE DON'T ANTICIPATE THERE BEING ANY SORT OF SIGN LIKE A SHADOWS CAST UPON THE BUILDING ON THE BACKSIDE OF THAT.

IT'S JUST TOO FAR, AND THEN WE CAN DIFFUSE THAT LIGHT SOME LIKEWISE ON THE ON THE SOUTH SIDE, IT'S GOING TO BE ALMOST THE INVERSION. IT WILL BE ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE FASCIA SHINING BACK ON THAT.

AND THE PROJECTION IS SUCH THAT WE THINK WE CAN CONTROL THAT WITHOUT HAVING TOO MUCH SHADOW CAST DOWN.

IF WE HAD IT REAL CLOSE. YES, SIR. YES, SIR. YEAH.

YEAH. AND WE CAN CONTROL THAT BY THE OPTICS ON THE FIXTURE THAT WE'LL BE USING.

THAT'S WHY A LOT OF TIME WE WON'T PUT LIKE A LOT OF STONE OR ANYTHING. IT JUST GETS REAL JUMBLED. ANY OTHER? I HAVE A QUESTION. WOULD THE LIGHT COLOR CHANGE EVER OR IS IT GOING TO BE ONE COLOR? I THOUGHT ABOUT THAT ON THE WAY HERE. SO THE ANSWER I WOULD SAY IS YES OR NO, DEPENDING ON HOW IT'S NO RIGHT NOW IT'S JUST A WHITE LIGHT.

I'VE DONE A LOT OF LED COLOR CHANGING LIGHTS, BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT THEY'VE ASKED FOR. IT'S JUST WHITE. IN TERMS OF THE ARCHITECTURAL RENDERINGS IS IT TRUE TO FORM IN TERMS OF WHAT THE STANDALONE LETTER OR STANDING LETTERS OR HANGING LETTERS WOULD LOOK AS FAR AS THE LIGHTING, IS THAT AS YOUR SOFTWARE PROGRAM, IS IT TRUE TO FORM? IT'S NOT 100% ACCURATE. IT'S ABOUT AS GOOD AS YOU CAN GET IN THE PROGRAM.

SO WE HAVEN'T CHANGED ANY OF THAT. I KNOW THAT THE P&Z DIDN'T SAY THAT THE SIGNAGE WAS APPROVED, BUT JUST TO SAY THAT IT WASN'T, AT LEAST AS FAR AS I REMEMBER, IT WASN'T A CONCERN THEN.

SO WE TRIED TO HOLD TRUE TO WHAT WAS APPROVED THEN.

BUT AGAIN, I KNOW THAT THE SIGNAGE WASN'T APPROVED. YEAH.

NO, I'M WITH COMMISSIONER PHALEN. I MEAN, IT'S HARD FOR OUR ORDINANACE TO ANTICIPATE EVERY KIND OF DERIVATIVE OF A SIGN, BUT THESE SEEM TO BE, YOU KNOW, VERY TASTEFUL AND WITH THE SPIRIT OF THE ORDINANCE AND NOT TOO, YOU KNOW, WE DRAW UP CERTAIN WIDTHS, BUT I MEAN, IT'S NOT THAT FAR OUT OF IT.

IT LOOKS PROPORTIONATE TO THE BUILDING. SO I WAS I WAS FINE WITH IT. I MEAN, IT'S A NICE LOOKING BUILDING. I WAS FINE WITH IT. I'LL SAY, THE NORTH SIDE, YOU REALLY WON'T SEE THE CANOPY SIGN FROM ANYWHERE OTHER THAN INSIDE THE SITE.

I KNOW THE NEW TRADEMARK PROJECT IS BEING POSED ON THE NORTH SIDE, SO YOU SEE IT FROM THERE WHEN IT GETS BUILT.

BUT THE CANOPY SIGN THAT'S INTERNAL TO THE SITE, THE ONE ON THE SOUTH SIDE, FACES HIGHWAY 114.

THAT WAS OUR SOLUTION TO NOT REALLY BEING ABLE TO PUT A MONUMENT SIGN AT 114.

WE HAVE OUR DETENTION POND THERE AT THE CORNER, AND THEN THERE'S JUST A SLEW OF UNDERGROUND UTILITIES, WHICH YOU OWE ME ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF AGO. AND WE FOUND THE GAS LINE, BY THE WAY.

SO BUT ANYHOW THAT WAS OUR SOLUTION WAS TO TRY TO FIGURE OUT A WAY TO GIVE SOME SIGNAGE WITHOUT GETTING TOO CLOSE TO SOME THINGS WE CAN'T CONTROL, REALLY. AND I APPRECIATE, AGAIN, THE TASTEFULNESS THE SIZE OF IT.

I APPRECIATE RELATIVE TO IT BEING ON THAT 114 FRONTAGE.

I MEAN, I THINK CERTAIN APPLICANTS SOMETIMES TRY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THAT.

WE HAVE SIGNS ALONG 114, PROBABLY ABOUT 35 TIMES LARGER.

WELL, SHANTE IS A HUGE BENEFIT TO THE CITY BECAUSE HE HELPS KNOW, YOU KNOW, WHAT'S WHAT'S GOING TO TRIGGER SOME CONCERNS AND THAT.

SO HE HELPED US GUIDE SOME OF THAT. NOT THAT HE TOLD US WHAT TO DO, BUT HE LET US KNOW WHEN WE'RE GETTING TOO FAR OUT.

ON CHANGING THE LIGHTING COLOR, YOU KNOW, WHITE, BUT NOW IT'S DRAGON GREEN OR IT'S RED? YEAH. THE ORDINANCE REQUIRES THAT IT BE A SOFT WHITE, NEUTRAL WHITE AND ANY OTHER COLOR REQUIRES APPROVAL UNDER A SIGN PROVISION. SO. SO I THINK MAYBE THAT'S JUST FOR THE APPLICANT THAT IF.

YEAH THE HOTEL. AS YOU HEAD TO CITY COUNCIL, IF THERE'S FOR SOME REASON, SOME DESIRE TO WANT TO CHANGE THE COLOR SEASONALLY OR SOMETHING, THAT THAT WOULD HAVE TO BE SOMETHING YOU'D INCLUDE IN YOUR. IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE TO SPECIFICALLY CALL THAT OUT IN YOUR COUNCIL MATERIALS, THAT IT WILL PROBABLY BE ADDITIONAL VARIANCE. BUT I THINK IF YOU'RE GOOD WITH IT AS IS, I'M GOOD.
