THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING HERE THIS AFTERNOON. I KNOW TRAFFIC AND PARKING IS IS A LOT TODAY WITH THE ELECTION DAY, BUT WE APPRECIATE YOU ALL BEING HERE. WE'RE GOING TO START WITH OUR WORK SESSION. AND THE 1ST ITEM WE HAVE IS TO INVITE PASTOR CLAYTON REED, WHO IS OUR OFFICIAL SOUTHLAKE CITY CHAPLAIN, AND ALSO FROM SOUTHLAKE BAPTIST CHURCH, TO LEAD US IN PRAYER.

AND THEN AFTER THAT, WE'LL PAUSE FOR A MOMENT, AND WE HAVE A GIRL SCOUT TROOP HERE WHO'S GOING TO HELP US WITH OUR PLEDGES.

WHO IS GOING TO GIVE US AN UPDATE ON WHAT'S GOING ON AT METHODIST SOUTHLAKE HOSPITAL. THAT'S A TOUGH ACT TO FOLLOW.

BENSON IT IS. THANK YOU. GOOD EVENING. AND FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVEN'T MET, MY NAME IS BENSON AND I'M THE HOSPITAL PRESIDENT AT METHODIST SOUTHLAKE MEDICAL CENTER. I'M HERE TO PROVIDE AN UPDATE ON THE COMMUNITY HOSPITAL HERE AND WHAT WE'VE ACCOMPLISHED OVER THE LAST YEAR. AND WE'VE MADE A LOT OF PROGRESS AS WE'VE CONTINUED TO GROW, TO BECOME THAT TRUSTED PROVIDER OF CHOICE.

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DON'T KNOW, METHODIST HEALTH SYSTEM THIS IS WHO THE HEALTH SYSTEM WAS BACK IN 2005.

IT CONSISTED OF 2 HOSPITALS AND 3 FAMILY HEALTH CENTERS.

FOUNDED IN OAK CLIFF AND KESSLER PARK, FOUNDED ABOUT 100 YEARS AGO BY METHODIST MINISTERS WHO SAID THERE'S NO HEALTH CARE IN SOUTH DALLAS.

AND WHAT WE LIKE TO SAY IS, 100 YEARS LATER, WE'RE STILL THE ONLY ONES THERE.

WE'RE SERVING THAT COMMUNITY, AND THAT'S ALWAYS BEEN OUR MISSION IS THE INDIGENT POPULATION. BUT I'M PROUD TO SHOW THAT SINCE THEN, WE'VE EXPANDED WELL INTO THE DFW AREA. AS YOU SEE HERE, WE NOW HAVE 7 HOSPITALS.

FOUNDING IN DALLAS. WE FOUNDED IN DALLAS IN METHODIST, CHARLTON, METHODIST, RICHARDSON, MANSFIELD, CELINA, MIDLOTHIAN, AND SOUTHLAKE. AND SO CELINA IS OUR NEWEST ADDITION TO THE METHODIST FAMILY.

WE HAVE OVER 120 ACCESS POINTS IN DFW, SO WE BY FAR ARE NOT THE LARGEST IN DFW, BUT WE ARE GROWING INTO THIS AREA AS YOU SEE IN THE MAP HERE.

WE'VE ALSO ADDED ACCESS POINTS HERE IN NORTHEAST TARRANT COUNTY.

I LIKE TO SHOW THAT WE ARE THE ONLY HOSPITAL HERE IN THE NORTHEAST TARRANT COUNTY AREA WITH A CROSS ON THE BUILDING.

WE ARE FOUNDED IN OUR FAITH OF BEING CHRIST'S HANDS AND FEET, AND CARING FOR ALL PEOPLE THAT COME INTO OUR BUILDING.

THE CURRENT FOOTPRINT OF OUR HOSPITAL. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DON'T KNOW, WE'RE RIGHT OFF OF WHITECHAPEL IN 114. WE ARE ON ABOUT 30 ACRES OF LAND BEHIND THE DELTA HOTEL. WE'VE EXPANDED OUR HOSPITAL INTO 54 BEDS, 1211 ORS A CATH LAB, AND EXPANDED THE EMERGENCY ROOM TO 12 ER, BEDS. TO TAKE CARE OF PATIENTS AND MAKE SURE WE CAN KEEP PATIENTS RIGHT HERE IN SOUTHLAKE.

OUR PRIMARY SERVICE AREA IS FAIRLY LARGE. AND SO THIS IS THIS BLUE OUTLINE THAT YOU SEE HERE.

SO WE GO AS FAR WEST AS JUSTIN, AS FAR EAST AS IN COPPELL, SOUTH TO BEDFORD, NORTH TO FLOWER MOUND AND HIGHLAND VILLAGE AREA.

AND SO WHAT'S INTERESTING TO SEE HERE IS LAST, THE LAST TIME I PROVIDED AN UPDATE TO THE COUNCIL, WE HAD 4 ACCESS POINTS. BY THE END OF THIS BY THE END OF THIS SUMMER, WE WILL HAVE 10 ACCESS POINTS HERE IN NORTHEAST TARRANT COUNTY AND ALSO TO INCLUDE IN COPPELL. AND SO WE JUST OPENED A FREESTANDING, SORRY, A SATELLITE EMERGENCY ROOM URGENT CARE CLINIC IN COPPELL.

WE HAVE ANOTHER ONE OPENING HERE IN NORTHEAST TARRANT COUNTY AT THE END OF THIS MONTH. ADDITIONAL ACCESS POINTS WITH PRIMARY CARE AND TROPHY CLUB.

COPPELL. WE HAVE OUR SOUTHLAKE OFFICE, COLLEYVILLE OFFICE AND JUST EXCITED TO CONTINUE TO GROW IN THE AREA.

WE'VE ALWAYS FOUND IT OURSELVES TO MAKE SURE WE'RE CREATING A QUALITY PROGRAM BASED OFF QUALITY CARE, HIGH PATIENT EXPERIENCE. BUT THE NUMBER ONE FOCUS IS WE'RE HERE TO TAKE CARE OF PATIENTS.

WE'RE EXCITED TO SHARE THAT AT THE FIRST OPPORTUNITY, CMS PROVIDED OUR OUR QUALITY RATING.

WE GOT A 4 STAR QUALITY RATING. THE HIGHEST YOU CAN GET IS 5 STAR.

AND SO WE'RE VERY PROUD OF THAT. WE GOT OUR FIRST LEAPFROG GRADE A OF A SAFETY GRADE THIS PAST FALL, AND SO WE'RE EXCITED TO CONTINUE TO PROVIDE THAT GREAT CARE TO OUR PATIENTS.

AND WE MENTIONED BEFORE OF OUR PRESS GANEY GUARDIAN OF EXCELLENCE AWARD.

GIVEN THE HIGH PATIENT EXPERIENCE SCORES THAT WE HAVE IN OUR EMERGENCY ROOM, WE'RE CONTINUING TO GROW IN OUR EMERGENCY ROOM.

AND ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE'RE FOCUSED ON IS KEEPING PATIENTS HERE IN SOUTHLAKE, OUR TRANSFER RATE IS ABOUT 2%.

THE PATIENTS THAT WE ARE TRANSFERRING OUT ARE PEDIATRIC OR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TO THOSE ENTITIES THAT PROVIDE THOSE CARE.

WE FOCUS ON PATIENT EXPERIENCE. FOR METHODIST, OUR GOAL HAS ALWAYS BEEN TOP QUARTILE.

THAT'S THE BLUE BAR YOU SEE THERE. WHAT'S GREAT ABOUT THIS SLIDE IS THE CONSISTENT CARE THAT WE'RE PROVIDING IN TOP DECILE PERFORMANCE HCAHPS MEANS INPATIENT.

OUTPATIENT IS YOUR MRIS CTS LAB TESTS ER IS OBVIOUS WITH OUR ER PATIENTS AND OUTPATIENT SURGERIES, THOSE ELECTIVE CASES THAT ARE COMING IN. AND SO 3 OUT OF THE 4 HAVE BEEN TOP DECILE FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS.

AND WE'RE VERY EXCITED ABOUT THAT. WE WANT TO SAY WE'RE ELEVATING THAT PATIENT EXPERIENCE, ELEVATING WHAT PATIENTS SHOULD DEMAND AND EXPECT FOR CARE HERE IN NORTHEAST TARRANT COUNTY. THE NEXT THING I'M PROUD TO SHOW IS THAT WE HAVE ACHIEVED OUR PRIMARY HEART ATTACK CENTER DESIGNATION.

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? BENSON. THAT IS THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF PRIMARY PRIMARY CARDIAC CARE YOU CAN GET BY THE JOINT COMMISSION.

OF THE SIX HOSPITALS IN NORTHEAST TARRANT COUNTY, ONLY THREE HAVE THIS CERTIFICATION.

WE RECEIVED THIS. WE EARNED THIS CERTIFICATION IN 18 MONTHS AFTER STARTING A CARDIAC PROGRAM HERE IN SOUTHLAKE.

PRIOR TO THIS, FOLKS WOULD HAVE TO LEAVE SOUTHLAKE TO GET GREAT CARDIAC CARE, AND WE'RE NOW BRINGING IT STRAIGHT HERE INTO THE COMMUNITY. SO WE'RE VERY PROUD OF THIS.

IT'S AN EXCELLENT ACHIEVEMENT BY OUR PHYSICIANS WHO ARE WHO ARE FOCUSED ON MAKING SURE WE PROVIDE THE BEST CARE WE CAN TIMELY TO OUR PATIENTS.

OUR AVERAGE DOOR TO BALLOON TIME. SO WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? IT'S FROM THE TIME THEY WALK INTO OUR FACILITY TO THE TIME THAT BALLOON OPENS THE ARTERY.

I GOT TO THE FIRST URGENT CARE AND THEY CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ACROSS THE STREET.

LET ME KNOW THAT I WAS HAVING A HEART ATTACK. GOT ME IN AN AMBULANCE.

I COULD HEAR THEM TALKING ABOUT WHERE THEY'RE GOING TO TAKE ME, AND I HEARD A METHODIST SOUTHLAKE, AND WE GOT INTO THE HOSPITAL AND ROLLED ME INTO THE CATH LAB.

IT WAS AMAZING THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT WERE ALREADY THERE WAITING FOR ME.

A LADY CAME UP. IT WAS DOCTOR KRUGER SHE INTRODUCED HERSELF, TOLD ME THAT SHE WAS A CARDIOLOGIST AND THAT SHE WAS GOING TO TAKE CARE OF ME.

MR. HUNT WAS BROUGHT IN BY THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES WITH WHAT WAS OBVIOUSLY AN ACUTE HEART ATTACK.

SO THE ARTERY WAS BLOCKED UP AND WE HAD TO RUSH TO OPEN IT UP.

WE SAY IN CARDIOLOGY THE TIME IS MUSCLE. EVERY MINUTE COUNTS.

IT IS EXPECTED FOR MOST OF THESE PROCEDURES TO BE ACHIEVED WITHIN LESS THAN 90 MINUTES.

AT SOUTHLAKE. WE'VE BEEN ABLE TO KEEP THAT TIME AROUND 60 MINUTES AFTER I FIRST FOUND OUT.

THEN I JUST FELT VERY WELL INFORMED OF EVERY SINGLE THING THAT WAS HAPPENING.

MEETING ALL THE NURSES AND THE DOCTORS AND THE MEDICAL TEAM.

WE KIND OF FELT AFTER ALL OF THAT THAT THEY WERE KIND OF LIKE OUR FAMILY.

I WENT THROUGH CARDIO REHAB FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS AFTER THIS HAPPENED.

IT ALLOWED ME TO GAIN MOMENTUM AND CONFIDENCE THAT EVERYTHING WAS WORKING AS IT SHOULD.

AND I'M NOW I'M BACK IN A FULL EXERCISE REGIMEN.

I RELIED HEAVILY ON MY FAITH, AND I FEEL LIKE I'VE BEEN GIVEN AN EXTRA, YOU KNOW, HOWEVER MANY DAYS TO LIVE, WHICH HAS BEEN EXTREMELY EYE OPENING. AND FOR THAT, WE ARE EXTREMELY GRATEFUL TO THE PARAMEDICS IN SOUTHLAKE METHODIST SOUTHLAKE TO DOCTOR KRUGER, TO THE NURSES, TO THE ENTIRE STAFF. THEY ARE AN EXCELLENT FACILITY AND THEY TOOK GREAT CARE OF NOT ONLY ME, BUT MY FAMILY. I FELT IT.

SO THAT'S JUST A GREAT EXAMPLE OF US PARTNERING WITH THE FINE GENTLEMEN AND WOMEN THAT HAVE SERVED THIS COMMUNITY, WITH THE EMS PROVIDERS BEING ABLE TO PARTNER WITH THEM AND CONTINUE THAT GREAT CARE THAT THEY'RE RECEIVING.

THIS INDIVIDUAL, AS YOU MENTIONED, WAS AT AN URGENT CARE CENTER RIGHT ACROSS FROM THE FIRE STATION.

WE DEDICATE OUR HOMEROOM TIME TO PLAY WITH THE SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENTS.

DOWN SYNDROME IS A CONDITION THAT HAPPENS WHEN SOMEONE IS BORN WITH AN EXTRA COPY OF CHROMOSOME 21.

MY NAME IS. MY NAME IS HAVEN. THERE'S 3 TYPES OF DOWN SYNDROME TRISOMY 21, TRANSLOCATION, AND MOSAIC. TRISOMY 21 IS WHERE THERE IS AN EXTRA CHROMOSOME AND ADDED TO THE 21ST PAIR, MAKING 3 COPIES INSTEAD OF 2, AND IS PRESENT IN EVERY CELL. GOOD JOB. MY NAME IS AMELIA.

AROUND 95% OF PEOPLE WITH DOWN SYNDROME HAVE TRISOMY 21, MAKING IT THE MOST COMMON TYPE OF DOWN SYNDROME.

TRANSLOCATION. SOMETIMES THE EXTRA 21ST CHROMOSOME ATTACHES TO A DIFFERENT CHROMOSOME, LIKE CHROMOSOME 14 OR 17.

GOOD JOB. MY NAME IS RYAN. THIS TYPE OF DOWN SYNDROME IS CONSIDERED MORE RARE THAN, WITH ONLY 4 TO 5% OF PEOPLE HAVING IT. IF THE 21ST CHROMOSOME IS ONLY FOUND IN SOME, BUT NOT ALL, OF A PERSON'S CELL IN THEIR BODY, THEN THIS IS CALLED MOSAIC.

THIS MAKES MOSAIC THE RAREST TYPE OF DOWN SYNDROME, WITH ONLY LESS THAN 1% OF PEOPLE HAVING IT.

GOOD JOB. YOU WANT TO DO THAT ONE FOR THIS ONE.

AND SO NOT ONLY DOES IT HELP THE STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES, BUT ALSO IT HELPS THE WHOLE SCHOOL COMMUNITY TO LEARN THAT EVERYONE IS IMPORTANT AND THAT WE ALL HAVE A ROLE TO PLAY IN MAKING SURE THAT EVERYONE FEELS IMPORTANT.

THAT'S BASICALLY THE GIST OF IT, TOO. THIS YEAR WE'VE ALSO THE KIDS BROUGHT IN THEIR FAVORITE SNACKS, WROTE LETTERS TO OUR SERVICE MEMBERS OVERSEAS WHO ARE NOT COMING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS.

AND THEN THIS YEAR, WE JUST COMPLETED OUR TOY DRIVE, AND WE COLLECTED OVER 500 ITEMS. AND THAT WILL BE GOING TO THE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL IN DALLAS.

WELL, GOOD EVENING, MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF CITY COUNCIL. I AM PROUD TO TAKE A FEW MINUTES TONIGHT TO RECOGNIZE AN IMPORTANT ACCOMPLISHMENT OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER DIVISION, AND ONE THAT DIRECTLY REFLECTS OUR DEPARTMENT'S COMMITMENT TO STUDENT SAFETY.

AS YOU KNOW, THE SRO DIVISION WAS RECENTLY SELECTED BY THE TEXAS SCHOOL SAFETY CENTER AS A RECIPIENT OF THE FALL SEMESTER SCHOOL SAFETY SPOTLIGHT AWARD FOR STAFF DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING. THE STATEWIDE RECOGNITION HIGHLIGHTS INNOVATIVE AND IMPACTFUL SCHOOL SAFETY INITIATIVES, AND IT AFFIRMS THE WORK THAT'S BEING DONE BY OUR OFFICERS AND THAT IT MEETS THE HIGHEST PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS OF SAFETY AND SECURITY.

THIS AWARD RECOGNIZES A COMPREHENSIVE, SCENARIO BASED TRAINING PROGRAM DEVELOPED BY MEMBERS OF OUR OWN SRO TEAM AND SRO SUPERVISORS, WHICH PLACES FIRST RESPONDERS AND EDUCATORS INTO FREQUENT, REALISTIC SCENARIOS DESIGNED TO STRENGTHEN COMMUNICATION, CLARIFY ROLES, AND IMPROVE COORDINATED RESPONSES DURING CRITICAL INCIDENTS.

RATHER THAN RELYING SOLELY ON POLICY REVIEW. THE TRAINING EXCEEDS STANDARDS BY FOCUSING ON PRACTICAL APPLICATION AND REPETITION, WHICH IS KEY TO BUILDING CONFIDENCE, REDUCING HESITATION, AND REINFORCING DECISIVE ACTION.

THE VALUE OF THIS APPROACH IS SIMPLE PREPAREDNESS REDUCES CHAOS.

WHEN OFFICERS IN OUR SCHOOL STAFF TRAIN TOGETHER, THEY DEVELOP SHARED UNDERSTANDING AND TRUST, WHICH IS CRITICAL IN A CRISIS. THAT UNIFIED RESPONSE TRANSLATES INTO FASTER, MORE EFFECTIVE PROTECTION OF BOTH OUR STUDENTS AND OUR STAFF AND OUR OFFICERS AS WELL.

THIS AWARD MATTERS BECAUSE IT VALIDATES OUR DEPARTMENT AND OUR CITY THAT IT'S INVESTED WISELY IN A PROACTIVE AND COLLABORATIVE MODEL OF SCHOOL SAFETY.

IT SIGNALS TO FAMILIES THAT WE DON'T TAKE A REACTIVE APPROACH.

WE PROACTIVELY PREPARE. WE TRAIN AND WE CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVE.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, IT REFLECTS A CULTURE OF TEAMWORK.

AS WE ALL KNOW, SCHOOL SAFETY IS NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF ONE PERSON OR ONE DEPARTMENT.

IT'S A TEAM EFFORT. IT'S A SHARED COMMITMENT.

AND THIS RECOGNITION AFFIRMS THAT OUR COLLECTIVE EFFORTS ARE MAKING A MEANINGFUL DIFFERENCE.

THEY SERVE AS PROTECTORS, AS MENTORS, PROBLEM SOLVERS, AND TRUSTED PARTNERS TO SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS AT THEIR RESPECTIVE CAMPUSES.

THEIR DAILY PRESENCE ACCOMPLISHES THREE CRITICAL OBJECTIVES.

FIRST, AN IMMEDIATE RESPONSE CAPABILITY. IN AN EMERGENCY, THERE IS NO DELAY.

A TRAINED POLICE OFFICER IS ALREADY ON CAMPUS AND PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION.

SECOND, PREVENTION AND EARLY INTERVENTION. AS MANY OF YOU MAY KNOW, OUR RELATIONSHIP BUILDING AND ACTIVE ENGAGEMENT THE SROS DO OFTEN IDENTIFY CONCERNS BOTH ON AND OFF CAMPUS BEFORE THEY ESCALATE INTO SERIOUS INCIDENTS.

AND 3RD, SAFETY, SAFETY, PLANNING AND PARTNERSHIP.

OUR SORROWS WORK CONTINUOUSLY WITH SCHOOL LEADERSHIP TO ASSESS VULNERABILITIES, UPDATE SAFETY PROTOCOLS AND ENSURE ALIGNMENT WITH BEST PRACTICES FOR PARENTS.

THESE OFFICERS PROVIDE REASSURANCE FOR EDUCATORS, THEY PROVIDE PARTNERSHIP AND CONFIDENCE, AND FOR STUDENTS, THEY PROVIDE BOTH SAFETY AND A POSITIVE CONNECTION WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT.

I WANT TO COMMEND OUR SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER DIVISION AS A WHOLE FOR THEIR LEADERSHIP AND THEIR PROFESSIONALISM.

I MEAN, IT GIVES THEM A FAMILIARITY WITH THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO FEEL SAFE, TO FEEL PROTECTED, BUT ALSO LOOK AT THEM AS HEROES AND KNOW WHO THEY ARE IN TERMS OF OUR COMMUNITY.

SO BRAVO. I THINK IT'S FANTASTIC. THANK YOU. THE SROS THAT I'VE MET ARE SOME OF THE BEST PEOPLE THAT I'VE EVER MET.

MY CHILDREN OBVIOUSLY HAVE GREAT RELATIONSHIPS.

I WANT YOU GUYS ALL TO KNOW THAT YOU MAY NOT REMEMBER EVERY SINGLE CHILD THAT GOES THROUGH THE SCHOOLS, BUT THEY DEFINITELY REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE. SO I REMEMBER MY MY TEACHERS WHEN I WAS YOUNG.

THEY HAD RECENTLY DEDICATED OR DONATED A TREE, A 100 GALLON SHUMARD OAK TREE TO THE CITY AS PART OF OUR PLANTING 2026 TREES THIS YEAR TO CELEBRATE NOT ONLY AMERICA 250, BUT SOUTHLAKE 70TH BIRTHDAY THIS YEAR.

SO WE'D ALREADY PLANTED THE TREE A WEEK OR2 AGO, AND SO THEY HAD A HUGE EVENT ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON.

I WAS I WAS GLAD TO BE INVITED AND BE PART OF IT.

AND WHAT A GREAT JOB THEY DID. WE'VE GOT SOME PICTURES ON SOCIAL MEDIA FROM THAT EVENT, BUT THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB OF GETTING, YOU KNOW, 100 TO 200 PEOPLE TO SHOW UP ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON AT BICENTENNIAL PARK FOR THAT TREE DEDICATION AND A REALLY INTERESTING GROUP, REALLY SPECIAL MICHAEL ANN BUSH AND GEORGIANA BRADEN WERE THE TWO THAT SEEM TO BE IN CHARGE.

SO THANKS TO BOTH OF THEM FOR THEIR GREAT WORK IN PUTTING ON A FIRST CLASS EVENT AND FOR DONATING THAT TREE TO THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE AS WE CONTINUE PLANTING TREES THIS YEAR.

IT'S GOING TO WASH OFF THAT SEGMENT OF THE LAND.

AND THE CITY A LONG TIME AGO PUT IN A ROAD TO GO TO THE BACK OF THE PROPERTY IN ORDER TO MOW AND, AND WITH THE PREVIOUS TENANT AND THEN NEXT TO THAT PROPERTY TO THAT IS THE LIFT STATION.

AND SO IT'S A NONPROFIT 501 C3. AND THEN LAST YEAR, WE WERE ABLE TO HELP A SHELTER THAT'S IN NORTH FORT WORTH CALLED NIKAH.

WELL, IT'S THE ABBREVIATED AS NIKAH. AND THEY SERVE PEOPLE THAT ARE WELL OVER WELL THE 300% POVERTY LEVEL.

SO MOST OF THEM ARE HOMELESS. AND SO WE WERE ABLE TO PROVIDE FOOD THAT WE COLLECTED DURING THE EVENT AS WELL AS AFTER THE EVENT.

AND THEN SOME FUNDS FOR THEM AS WELL. OUR HOPE IS THAT THIS YEAR WE'LL BE ABLE TO HAVE THE EVENT AS WELL.

THE ALCOHOL SALES WILL HELP. IN ADDITION, ADDITIONAL FUNDING TO BE ABLE TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY SO THAT WE CAN CONTINUE TO EXTEND THE BEAUTIFUL WORK THAT WE CAN DO HERE AS A COMMUNITY TO HELP THOSE WHO ARE IN NEED.

WE'VE AND WE'VE INCLUDED A GREEN ROOM SUCH THAT IF THE BRIDE AND GROOM WANT TO GO AND CHANGE AND THEN COME BACK OUT AND GREET THEIR GUESTS, OR IF WE HAVE AN ENTERTAINER OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT THE SWEET SPOT IN TERMS OF THE USAGE FOR OUR FOR WEDDINGS AND AT THE HOTEL, IT'S BETWEEN 150 AND 180 PEOPLE, WHICH WE CAN EASILY ACCOMMODATE IN THIS SPACE.

THE CITY RETAINED TIGHE, NEAL, AND PERKINS, OR TNP TO PERFORM FORENSIC ENGINEERING EVALUATIONS, AND WHILE THE 36 ABOUT 36FT OF THE WALL IS DIRECTLY IMPACTED BY THE VEHICLE, THE FORENSIC REVIEW DETERMINED THAT THE WALL WAS ALREADY EXPERIENCING SOME DRAINAGE ISSUES THROUGH SOME STRUCTURAL HOLDING WATER BEHIND THE WALL.

SO THE ENGINEER IDENTIFIED SOME LONG TERM ROTATION TOWARDS THE SIDEWALK, INADEQUATE REINFORCEMENT, POOR DRAINAGE SOME HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE BUILD UP AND NONFUNCTIONING UNDERDRAIN SYSTEM.

AND THEY BELIEVE IT MAY BE DUE TO TREE ROOTS OR SOME OF THE CONDITIONS ON THE GROUND.

BASED ON THESE FINDINGS, THE ENGINEER CONCLUDED THAT REPAIRING JUST THAT AREA IS NOT GOING TO BE SUFFICIENT AND THAT WE NEED TO REPLACE THE FULL WALL.

SO WE, USING OUR CONTRACT THAT WE HAVE WITH APEX, HAD THEM BID OUT THE OPTIONS.

SO BASED ON THE ENGINEERING. ENGINEERING RECOMMENDATION PROPOSED SOLUTION IS FULL REMOVAL OF THAT EXISTING MODULAR BRICK WALL AND CONSTRUCT A CAST IN PLACE REINFORCED CONCRETE WALL.

THE PROJECT INCLUDES DEMOLITION AND REMOVAL OF THE EXISTING WALL, INSTALLATION OF THE REINFORCED CONCRETE WALL WITH SPREAD FOOTING, IMPROVED DRAINAGE MATERIALS AND FABRIC, TRAFFIC CONTROL, UTILITY COORDINATION, AND SITE RESTORATION.

TO MAINTAIN YOU KNOW, VISUALLY WITH THE CORRIDOR, WE'RE GOING TO PUT A FORM LETTER FINISH AND STAINED FINISH ON THIS WALL.
